Our Staff
ADVENT'S ADMINISTRATOR
Pam Dicken-Administrator
Pam has been a Hanover County resident for 55 years. She is a member of the Advent Community Church. She has been the administrator at Advent Christian Child Care Center since 9/2014. As administrator, Pam is responsible for the entire operation of the childcare center and is accountable to the Child Care Board. The pastor serves in an advisory capacity to the administrator.
Prior to this position, Pam was the Lead teacher in The Fish Class for 13 years and served on the Child Care Board. Pam describes her time at Advent as a "calling from God". She is working towards her Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and has a diploma form Liberty University of Advanced Biblical Studies.
Pam is Medication Administration Training (MAT) certified, as well as First Aid and CPR certified.
Pam also serves on the Leadership Board for The Advent Community Church.
ADVENT'S PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Mrs. Jordyn - Mrs. Jordyn is the program director since 2021. She has been in childcare since 2015 and started while in high school. She has worked many different positions at Advent. She has worked as an aide for all the classes, has been a Substitute in many circumstances, was the School Age Coordinator for 4 years, and had to fill in as a Bee Lead Teacher (Pre-K) for 6 months. She is now attending Grand Canyon University to obtain her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. She will graduate in 2023. Jordyn is an extremely hard worker and always tries her best to succeed and always do better. (Medication Administration Training (MAT) trained, CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED)
Jordyn also serves on the Leadership Board for the Advent Community Church
YOUTH PASTOR
Mrs. Amy- SUPERVISOR/YOUTH PASTOR
Amy is our youth minister here at Advent. She plays a huge role in our atmosphere with the love she shares with everyone. She enjoys doing Bible study and songs with the children in the Chapel once a week and directs our Vacation Bible School during the summer. Amy also trains our staff in CPR and First Aid and fills in as a substitute when staff are absent. (CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED and MAT)
Amy also serves on the Leadership Board for the Advent Community Church.
BEFORE AND AFTERSCHOOL COORDINATOR:
Mrs. Carly- Mrs. Carly has been a part of Advent since 2018. She has worked as an aide on the School Age and Preschool side.Then, she became a lead teacher on the School Age side in the Summer of 2020. Overtime, she moved up in her role and took on the co-coordinator position for the School Age side during the summer of 2023, which led her to becoming the School Age coordinator as of 2024. She has almost completed her bachelor's degree in
Elementary Education through Longwood University. She loves working with kids and watching them grow and has been a blessing to Advent. (CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED AND MAT TRAINED)

Preschool Teachers:
Mrs. Erin- Pre-K Academic Tutor (Pre-K Grad Students)
Erin has been a pleasure to have at Advent. She is so sweet and genuine. She is always loving on the little guys. She used to work at Advent as a teenager and came here as a child. She is remarkably familiar with everything here. She has two children of her own. She has been working with us the beginning of 2020. She has started as an assistant and moved her way up in different class lead teacher roles. She started as a Turtle teacher, went to the Dino's and now has taken on our important role of Pre-K Tutoring class. We are so thankful for all she does.

Mrs. Taylor- Koala Class Lead Teacher (4.5-5 yrs)
Mrs. Taylor has been a part of the Advent community for over 8 years. She had family attend childcare here and wanted to be a part of our staff! She has worked in many positions here, starting from the Afterschool and worked her way over to the pre-school starting as a Fish teacher and now moved up to the new Koala class lead. She is currently working on her MIT School to become a pastor. We are so blessed to have her here with us! (CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED)
Ms. Andi- Bee Class Lead Teacher (4-5 yrs.)
Ms. Andi has been a nanny for a very long time now, she has also worked with the nursery at her church for a couple years. She is the oldest of 6 siblings. Andi is one of our on-site artists who painted a mural of Noah's Ark in the church's nursery. She is passionate about her job and everything she does. She started out as the Dino teacher (two-year old's) since 2017 and became the Bee teacher in summer of 2022. (MAT and CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED)
Ms. Trina - Fish Class Lead Teacher (3.5-4.5 yrs.)
Ms. Trina has been a part of Advent since 2020. She has floated too all different ages in our center. When the Fish teacher left, she decided to help us and be a co-teacher with Ms. Lily. Trina is so much fun to be around and has a lot of experience with children. She grew up in a family of 6 and has nannied for many years. She also owns a hair salon business. She is a jack of all trades. (CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED and MAT)
Mrs. Krystina-Bunny Class Lead Teacher (3-3.5 yrs.)
Mrs. Krystina has been working with us for quite a while now. She has been an aide for the Bunny class this whole time and is now the Lead for this class. She is also part of our church as well. She loves children and put her 100 percent in everything she does. (MAT, and CPR FIRST AID CERTIFIED)
Ms. Mariah- Turtle Class Lead Teacher (2.5-3 yrs)
Ms. Mariah has been with us for almost a year now and we are very thankful to have her loving and caring spirit. She originally was taking care of older folk in need and wanted to change her path to the younger side of our little ones. She show compassion, grace, and energy for our kiddos. We are so thankful to have her as part of our family. (CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED)
Mrs. Nina- Dino Class Lead Teacher (2-2.5 yrs.)
Mrs. Nina has been a part of Advent since fall of 2020. She has been such a pleasure to have at Advent. She is always willing to do her best with the children, staff, and community around her. She stays organized and on top of all rules and expectations. Mrs. Nina has been the turtle aide for the last few years, she then took the Turtle lead position in summer of 2022. After that she became the Dino Teacher as of summer of 2024. We are thankful for all she does. (CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED)
Mrs. Ana: Teacher Aide/Supervisor
Mrs. Ana had been working for Advent for 5 years. She works as a Teacher Aide for the preschool and as kitchen staff. Before working at Advent, she worked as a Nanny for a family in Connecticut for several years. Caring for children is her passion and she really enjoys working in the kitchen here at Advent Christian Childcare. (CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFIED)

Mrs. Sandy: She has been a part of Advent almost her whole life! She has worked at Advent for a long time now. She had personal things go on and there was a time she was out, but she is now back with us, and we could not be happier. Her job can be difficult, and she is our person for it. She is a caregiver and is always wanting to help everyone out no matter what. She thinks about everyone else before she thinks about herself. She is awesome!
